Better denim starts with better materials. We prioritize certified organic and regenerative cotton — a tiny share of the world's supply — grown with less water and healthier soil practices. That same intention carries through to production: state-of-the-art factories that recycle up to 98% of their water, using ozone washing, air drying, and renewable energy to reduce water and energy use by design.
We work with mills and wash houses that have verifiably reduced chemical use, moving away from harmful treatments common in conventional denim. Our partners are independently tested against leading safer chemistry standards like bluesign, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and ZDHC — not self-reported claims. Fewer chemicals in your jeans, safer conditions for the people who make them, and lower environmental impact.
We don't guess at environmental impact — we verify it. Using Jeanologia's EIM, the industry benchmark standard for environmental denim wash impact, 96% of our washes score low to medium — meaning significantly less water, energy, and chemicals than conventional denim.
Our denim fabric is rigorously third-party tested multiple times from development through pre-production — verifying durability, consistency, and performance across fabric weight, tear strength, and color fastness. "I have a similar cut pant in corduroy (Sailor pant) and really liked them so I ordered these as well. Very happy with them, would have liked the longer version but they were out of stock. Usually I'm a size 2 (25 jean size) but these have a bit of room so maybe could have gone with a size 0."
"To preface: all of my favorite jeans are from Everlane. I don't think anyone does jeans better. And as with all of the jeans I've purchased from them, the delightfully rugged structure and flattering cuts are top-notch, to say nothing of the organically sourced material. So while I DO love these jeans for all of the above-listed qualities, I wish they were about 2 inches longer. For reference, I'm 5'4", 130lbs and ordered a size 25 with a 27. 5" inseam. If you're shorter, the length might be perfect. I was hoping these would fit as well as the High-key jeans (can't recommend enough) with their flowy comfort and a length that brushes the ground without getting under foot. These jeans, by contrast, feel like they're borderline too short, as though you ordered the wrong size. But the rest of the fit is perfect, so I can't recommend sizing up or they'll fit all wonky everywhere else. Case in point: if you want the entirety of your shoes to be visible get these jeans, they're super comfy. If you'd prefer that ultra-chill 90's / early 2000's wide-leg vibe check out the High-Key Jeans."

"I love the original Way High Sailor Jean. I already have them in black. They fit like a glove, and I was hoping to get the same thing in blue denim. I bought the same size but they are much too small, and much too short. I am 5’5” and bought the recommended shorter inseam. Next time I would buy the longer ones, these are much too short. 5 stars for the overall style, 2 stars for the inconsistency."
"I love the quality I’ve come to expect from Everlane, and look to them first for sturdy, comfortable lifetime wear. Unfortunately the sizing, at least for the bottoms is reliably inconsistent. Measurements within the same size across different products vary wildly, with some 23 jeans like the way high squeezing me too tight to bend and sit comfortably, and others like the size 23 utility barrel ballooning out and requiring a belt. It’s sturdy, beautiful denim, but these jeans are uncomfortably large and won’t stay up on their own without alterations. Final sale too, so no returns."
"I was worried that being a regular waist 23 in everlane with wide hips would be different in the sailor original in coal. Nope. I ordered the 24 in the 27. 5 inseam and it was slightly roomy at the waist. I like it very tight in the waist so I returned and reordered the 23. The live chat associate was very kind in helping me get price matched in the same transaction. I was able to return the 24 to a physical store and return was super easy with email address and order number."
