That same intention carries through to production: state-of-the-art factories that recycle up to 98% of their water, using ozone washing, air drying, and renewable energy to reduce water and energy use by design.
We work with mills and wash houses that have verifiably reduced chemical use, moving away from harmful treatments common in conventional denim. Our partners are independently tested against leading safer chemistry standards like bluesign, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and ZDHC — not self-reported claims. Fewer chemicals in your jeans, safer conditions for the people who make them, and lower environmental impact.
We don't guess at environmental impact — we verify it. Using Jeanologia's EIM, the industry benchmark standard for environmental denim wash impact, 96% of our washes score low to medium — meaning significantly less water, energy, and chemicals than conventional denim.
Our denim fabric is rigorously third-party tested multiple times from development through pre-production — verifying durability, consistency, and performance across fabric weight, tear strength, and color fastness. "I love (like love love) Everlane’s barrel leg and wider leg pants. They really just *work with my athletic-curvy hourglass-vs-pear body type. I took the plunge to see how these slimmer-fit jeans would pan out and I love them. Form fitting, flattering, the perfect Audrey Hepburn type pencil leg. A little more polished than a vintage Levi’s 501 (imho), and these fit my proportions better anyways."

"These aren’t my favourite and they probably will never make it into a regular line up. There is gapping in the back. The denim is very stiff and is uncomfortable to sit in. The size is probably right (?) but I was disappointed in the fit. Maybe if there was variation in the model sizes shown, I would have had a better gauge of how these would look on my size 8/10 body. I took the tags off prematurely, thinking I would warm up to them, but after three wears I have not."

"I took my normal size and the jeans were huge. I was not able to return them because they were final sale but Everlane did send allow me to exchange them for a smaller size, They were still big a little big around the waist and very baggy in the thighs and legs overall. Not the slim jeans I was looking for,"
Pleasantly surprised at the fit!
"Everlane denim in size 27 generally fits but I had not tried on or purchased a high waist jean from them until I bought this pair. I was worried that there would be some gapping at the waist based on some of the reviews that I had read but these jeans fit me perfectly. The inseam is a tad longer than optimal (I could not wear these with flats, e. g. ) but not long enough that I have to hem them. They look great with my chunky heeled boots. I will admit that this “way high” waist really is quite high compared to all of my other jeans but I do prefer wearing this style of jean with sweaters and tops that are a bit shorter in length so that my belly stays covered. The indigo rinse color is as pictured on the website, a beautiful dark blue, and the heft of the denim is substantial."
