The Cleanest Denim You'll Find.

Conventional denim production is dirty business and we’re on a mission to clean it up. Here's how we're doing it differently—and why that matters for you.

Better Is Our Starting Point

Better denim starts with better materials. We prioritize certified organic and regenerative cotton — a tiny share of the world's supply — grown with less water and healthier soil practices. That same intention carries through to production: state-of-the-art factories that recycle up to 98% of their water, using ozone washing, air drying, and renewable energy to reduce water and energy use by design.

The Only Toxic We Appreciate Is the Song

We work with mills and wash houses that have verifiably reduced chemical use, moving away from harmful treatments common in conventional denim. Our partners are independently tested against leading safer chemistry standards like bluesign, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and ZDHC — not self-reported claims. Fewer chemicals in your jeans, safer conditions for the people who make them, and lower environmental impact.

Measured, Not Marketing

We don't guess at environmental impact — we verify it. Using Jeanologia's EIM, the industry benchmark standard for environmental denim wash impact, 96% of our washes score low to medium — meaning significantly less water, energy, and chemicals than conventional denim.

Can't Have Quality Without Standards

Our denim fabric is rigorously third-party tested multiple times from development through pre-production — verifying durability, consistency, and performance across fabric weight, tear strength, and color fastness. The result: denim built to get better with age, with more years in your wardrobe and fewer replacements.

Medium fits like 42R, sleeves are slight big and long

"I'm 6' tall, 180 lbs, wear a 42R blazer, and 16 neck 34/35 slim fit dress shirts. The medium fit me well, though the sleeves were slightly bigger in circumference and a tad longer than what i prefer and what i have in my other chore coat (Taylor Stitch Ojai in 42). If your biceps aren't real thick, you may find the sleeves a little on the baggy side. Check out the fit on the models. I partially solved this problem by wetting the sleeves then putting the jacket in the dryer on high heat. I also used the 2nd button on the cuffs to keep the sleeve from going past my wrists. That improved the fit and I think it looks pretty good now."

Very big and color different

"Didn’t love it this time, it fits huge and the color is a bit bright."

"I’m a 5’7 size S woman that has been looking for the Everlane barn jacket forever. Its been sold out, so I thought I’d check the mens jacket section. I bought in a Mens Medium for an oversized look and I am a fan! I wanted this as an oversized jacket to wear to the bar, out for walking the dog, etc. with pockets so I didn’t need a bag. This fits the bill. The color is true to the photos. Its unlined and a nice mediun weight for fall or spring. It’s no womens barn jacket, but it will do the job due to the sale price!"

Living In LA

"This a pretty cool jacket. Perfect for Los Angeles weather as Fall transitions into winter. Love the pockets: I-Phone, wallet, car keys, I would stay with regular sizing as I have in the past purchase a size up with these Utility Jackets and they were too big. The material is sturdy but not to heavy and the jacket moves with you throughout the day. Thanks Everlan for making cool clothing that is priced for affordability and clean energy."

"The shirt is too short it huts above the waist"

Buyer Beware Inconsistent Sizing

"I like the jacket but Everlane’s sizing is totally inconsistent. You can’t predict what size will fit based on other things you’ve ordered and can’t even exchange if an item is Final Sale like this is. Everlane’s customer service has really slipped."

Fit is nice - looks better than model images

"I had a kalamata chore coat from Everlane that I bought a few years ago that I wore every day while shooting on set. The pockets were great, and I liked that it had a bit more structure than a lot of other chore jackets you can find with similar styling, because it meant that it looked professional even if just paired with a t-shirt, but was light weight enough to wear in warmer weather. I had to replace it because the dye didn't hold up to the Australian sun / sunscreen and bled and it looked a bit junky, plus I'd lost a bunch of weight. I spent a lot of time looking around, and the only ones that I liked didn't have colours that I felt worked well with my style. Everlane wasn't making a chore jacket at the time but I saw this pop up recently and weighed out buying it and bit the bullet during a sale. Overall I'm happy, but the previous everlane chore jacket was my platonic ideal and the utility styling has some drawbacks. The new version of the jacket with the utility styling is an interesting choice. I think the extra pockets on the front make it look busy and the utilitarian nature of it definitely makes it more casual. I don't love that for how I present in a professional environment with an oxford shirt with this jacket (it looks incongruous), but the material and construction is nice. One thing I appreciate about this design is that they've made the sleeves a lot easier to cuff, and I really like how the jacket looks in that mode - otherwise the bottom silhouette looks a bit too boxy like you see in the model images. One thing I'm not loving is that we lost some internal pockets from the chore jacket version - I like to stick a notebook into my front pockets and then gum / airpods / prophylactics/ etc. in internal pockets. The button pocket is sort of functional for the same thing, but I liked that bulkier objects wouldn't be visible in the pockets if they were tucked internally. Most of the time it's not a huge deal, but recently when travelling with this jacket I was _really_ missing that internal pocket for my passport. I also wish it was a bit more fitted. The sleeves being a bit bulkier does have the advantage that they roll very well, but you can even see in the model photos that it would benefit from a second button on the cuff to wear unrolled. I don't know who styled the person in that photo, but it really emphasizes the drawbacks of the coat. And to just add some positive, there really isn't so much of a flare towards the hip from the shoulders, I have a pretty modest chest and delts, and I was worried, given the photos, that it would look frumpy, but it actually does have a bit of a taper. While I don't get a V shape from it (nor would I want that), I also don't get the awkward wider midsection look that the model is getting. It looks pretty nice, and I like it for more action ready looks."
