The Selfie Tank Dress

I ordered two dresses, one

"I ordered two dresses, one white and one black, both in XS. I own many cotton rib items from Everlane and I am always an XS. I reviewed the size table to confirm the fit as well. Well, the white dress is just massive, fits like an M. The black is smaller but still big, fits more like an S. These were final sale so I am stuck with them. I tried to wash and dry the white one to shrink it. It didn't shrink at all. . . so it's either preshrunk cotton or not cotton at all. Overall, the material is very thick and stiff, doesn't drape well, not comfortable at all, unlike other cotton items from this brand that I own. Lots of bunching up on lower back, mostly since the size is so off. Disappointed I wasted $100. Oh well!"

Must be very lean to wear

"Dress is kind of stiff and heavy - shape comes from body in dress - I tried belts but did not work. A mistake I made was to wear leggings and dress kept catching on them."

Dress seems way too tight

"The fabric is not thick or thin…just medium-weight, but it seems durable. It’s not very soft (& one reason I assume it’s durable), but it’s not too rough to wear either. I actually wear size XS but typically size up to size S to account for shrinkage, for clothes I intend to wash in hot water & dry in the dryer. In this case, I sized up TWO SIZES to a size M, & just trying on the dress out of the shipping box, it was already more form fitting than I wanted… Personal preference: I purposely sized up 2 sizes because I wanted the fit to be non-clingy (& obviously the dress is super clingy on the model). So for everyone else who WANTS the look as advertised, you might be OK with the fit. But for me, it seems designed to fit even tighter than a different “form-fitting” dress I’ve tried from Everlane before."

Great versatile tank dress

"Really great material. It’s a thicker cotton and stretchy so it allows the tank style to flow down the body without being skin tight. At my age, I do not want skin tight clothing. I like the high neck line. Makes the dress look more sophisticated. I would say it’s runs large. I’m 5’3”, 120 lbs, pear shaped, and I got a size XS. I’m usually a size S in other brands’ dresses."
