Breathable, durable, and inherently lower impact. True European linen is rare—making up less than 1% of textiles sold globally. Here's what makes ours better.
What touches your skin all day should come from the earth, not a lab. Natural fabrics breathe, move, and respond to your body in ways synthetics can't replicate — and linen does it better than most. Especially on the days it matters most. Hot commute. Long lunch. That hour when the afternoon just won't quit. Linen handles it. You stay cool.
Our Masters of Flax Fibreâ„¢ linen is grown in France without GMOs, with little-to-no irrigation, and extracted through a fully mechanical process with zero waste. A third-party Life Cycle Assessment confirms: certified Masters of Flax Fibreâ„¢ production cuts carbon emissions by over 74% and reduces water use and soil nutrient pollution compared to conventional linen. Not a marketing claim. A verified fact.
Every processor in our linen supply chain must be certified to the Masters of Flax Fibreâ„¢ (previously European Flaxâ„¢) Standard, which means full traceability from raw material to finished garment. No self-reported claims. No gaps in the chain. Just independently verified standards that hold us accountable all the way through.
Our linen is made from extra-long flax fibers — stronger by nature and woven into a fabric that holds up where others break down. Rigorously tested from development through pre-production for durability, consistency, and performance. What you get is a fabric that softens with every wash, holds its shape over years, and earns its place as a wardrobe staple. Fewer replacements. More years of wear.

"Beautiful quality, heavy linen. Bought for the beach but now I think it’s too nice!"
"Bought this shirt on sale but it’s worth the price. I purchased a size large, which is my regular size. I’m 5’7, 175lbs, 36DD. It fits oversized but in a cool way. It’s quite long. I could have maybe purchased a medium but I don’t size down with button down shirts because of bust button gapping. I cannot wait to wear this again. It’s quality linen."
"This shirt was the absolute MVP of my vacation. It is light and breathable while also being full-coverage (ideal as I was travelling to a country with 35+ degree days and strict modest dress code). It is a really wonderful linen, it wrinkled a bit, to be expected, but even when packing in a tight suitcase it never looked sloppy. I could hang it up at the hotel and the really deep wrinkles would fall out. I ordered my usual medium, but I had to exchange for an XS, which was perfect, still oversize but not drowning. I never write reviews but I am hoping and PRAYING Everlane will bring this back with different colours and patterns. I will be buying multiple. Please Everlane!!!!!!!"
"So comfortable and feel immediately put together when I throw it on. I tried an XXS, XS, S across the different colors available and decided to keep all three! Love the different patterns and colors available. Washes well on cold, delicate. I am 5’6”, 32F, 172lbs, pear shaped (w/more petite upper body/shoulders. ) I’m usually a size S in their box t shirts (I have a long torso) and XS in all other shirts and tshirts. The size S in this, works great and is definitely oversized on me, and could wear it as a dress or over leggings or shorts or as a bathing suit coverup. Size XS was my favorite fit in this, as it was perfectly oversized. Size XXS works for more of a fitted look on me."
"I am 5'10 and 130 lbs with a fairly slender, non-curvy body shape and ordered a size medium. I got this shirt on a whim to use as a beach cover up for a trip. It is very long and oversized as expected. I maybe could have gotten away with a small, but given my height and the length of my limbs, I opted for a larger size. I love the longer back length, the scallop shape on the sides, and the pleats at the upper back. It worked well as a beach cover up. I would love to figure out how else to wear it. It's too wide to belt and wear as a dress. It may also be a bit too oversized to wear as a regular shirt, even in a drapey, casual way. Also, very wrinkly after washing and line drying, but irons out well."
"I bought this a little doubtfully, and it turns out I love it a lot. I reach for it as a short dress, a voluminous shirt, and as a layering piece. It’s pleasingly oversized (a bit more so because of the structure of the linen standing away from the body). The sleeves work rolled or down, although I usually roll them. No gapping at the chest and I like the button placement. I’m a fan of the extra large chest pockets on some of Everlane’s shirts, a handy place to stash glasses or a phone in a pinch and deep enough things don’t tumble out easily. Smaller pockets have lost their charm and I want big pockets on all my shirts & dresses. I find myself reaching for it way more often than I anticipated, and it’s washing well and continues to look great. (I go for rumpled/line dry with no iron. ) I’d jump at the same in flannel."
"As per most of Everlane’s pieces, this shirt was vanity sized. I’m usually a small or 4 and took an XS and could have taken an XXS. Since the shirt is so big, it’s more of a light jacket. As such, it would be nice to have side pockets. I may sew in side pockets myself. As someone who sews, I appreciate the flat-felled seams. I love a well constructed garment that looks almost as finished on the inside as outside."
"I’m really happy with this shirt, especially since I got it on sale. The quality seems great and the linen feels lovely. I will say it is quite oversized and it is very long. I ordered a small when I usually order a medium for anything that is more fitted (32 D, 27” waist) and I have lots of room. It can be worn as a dress and I’m 5’9” so it might be too long for shorter people. I’d say it’s true to everlane’s provided size chart."
"I really like this piece, I got it on sale and I think it’s so lovely. I have a few everlane linen pieces and I feel like this linen is a lot softer than previous styles and doesn’t seem to wrinkle as bad. Could just be me. Still haven’t figure out how to wear it though, but it’s great for a casual beach thing if that’s your style. Also looks cute with some slouchy pants and a belt around the waist. Anyways, great piece!"
