Better denim starts with better materials. We prioritize certified organic and regenerative cotton — a tiny share of the world's supply — grown with less water and healthier soil practices. That same intention carries through to production: state-of-the-art factories that recycle up to 98% of their water, using ozone washing, air drying, and renewable energy to reduce water and energy use by design.
We work with mills and wash houses that have verifiably reduced chemical use, moving away from harmful treatments common in conventional denim. Our partners are independently tested against leading safer chemistry standards like bluesign, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and ZDHC — not self-reported claims. Fewer chemicals in your jeans, safer conditions for the people who make them, and lower environmental impact.
We don't guess at environmental impact — we verify it. Using Jeanologia's EIM, the industry benchmark standard for environmental denim wash impact, 96% of our washes score low to medium — meaning significantly less water, energy, and chemicals than conventional denim.
Our denim fabric is rigorously third-party tested multiple times from development through pre-production — verifying durability, consistency, and performance across fabric weight, tear strength, and color fastness. The result: denim built to get better with age, with more years in your wardrobe and fewer replacements.

"I had to have these shorts the moment I saw them on sale. They are a classic denim blue and the perfect length for me as a 5'2" person. I love how soft and comfy they are - they feel like pajamas by the end of the day when they are slightly stretched out! Although I'd usually size up with denim shorts, I went with a true-to-size fit since they stretch out."
"Material is good quality, I'm usually a 27 in way high jeans so I got 27 for these. But these are 100% cotton. No stretch means I struggled to put them on. And then the A line flare out is just not flattering on my thicker thighs. Will be returning these I really wish there had been a jeans shorts with 2% stretch and a straight cut! That's what I really want. And would be great if Everlane showed more body diversity in their models"
