Conventional denim production is dirty business and we’re on a mission to clean it up. Here's how we're doing it differently—and why that matters for you.
Better denim starts with better materials. We prioritize certified organic and regenerative cotton — a tiny share of the world's supply — grown with less water and healthier soil practices. That same intention carries through to production: state-of-the-art factories that recycle up to 98% of their water, using ozone washing, air drying, and renewable energy to reduce water and energy use by design.
We work with mills and wash houses that have verifiably reduced chemical use, moving away from harmful treatments common in conventional denim. Our partners are independently tested against leading safer chemistry standards like bluesign, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and ZDHC — not self-reported claims. Fewer chemicals in your jeans, safer conditions for the people who make them, and lower environmental impact.
We don't guess at environmental impact — we verify it. Using Jeanologia's EIM, the industry benchmark standard for environmental denim wash impact, 96% of our washes score low to medium — meaning significantly less water, energy, and chemicals than conventional denim.
Our denim fabric is rigorously third-party tested multiple times from development through pre-production — verifying durability, consistency, and performance across fabric weight, tear strength, and color fastness. The result: denim built to get better with age, with more years in your wardrobe and fewer replacements.

The Low-Rise Shortie Jean by Fog offers a classic denim look with a low rise and straight leg. Customers appreciate its flattering fit, perfect length, and attractive colors. However, some find the sizing confusing.

"Love the return of the mid-rise! Great fit around the bum and perfect length. Denim is structured in just the right way. These have become my favorite jeans."
"I was looking for a more forward fashion but no to far forward jean. These fit the bill. I sized up as they don’t have as much stretch as some of my others and it wasn’t necessary, so gave me a chance to use my belts. In the future would go with my true size, 31, vs the 32; it is now more of a boyfriend look, but I’m good with it. Looks great with calf boots!!"
"I am “in like” with these jeans. The wash is very cute and light without giving an acid wash feel. The leg opening is very comfortable, tapered in the thigh, and looks nice in the booty. Unfortunately, maybe it’s just my body type, but these were not really what I would call low rise. They hit exactly directly underneath my belly button - I look for low rise jeans to be at least an inch under my belly button. These also definitely did not feel loose and I purchased my regular size."
"Wish Everlane would make more low rise pants. Not everyone wants the high rise all the time."
"I short. I don't have a long waist or long legs so these are perfect for me. Most flattering fit."
"As a short, 5’4 and short waisted person, these jeans are perfect. Just hit at my ankle. And sit just slightly below my waist. They hang great, just a nice straight leg jean. I like wearing them with sandals or boots. They are a bit loose (and for me the Dark Ink color ran a bit bigger) but since I like my denim a bit loose, I always have stuff in my pockets, I went with my reg size 28 for this color and the Dark Ink. So I will say they run a bit large. These and the Way Wide Cropped jeans have been my favourite denim from Everlane this year."
"I’m grateful to the other reviewers because I sized down two sizes and was reassured that the rise was not too short. I found these jeans cool and comfortable is warm weather. My only warning is the cuffs. After one cold water wash and line dry the cuffs do fray and would continue to fray eventually making the length shorter and create a “fluffy” frayed edge on each of the cuffs. If that’s you’re thing then you might be happy with them. I immediately trimmed the frayed edges of the cuff and sewed around each cuff with my sewing machine—the only remedy I know to stop a cuff from fraying. I wish Everlane would address this. I’ve had to do this sewing trick on multiple jeans from other stores."
"I have these in the very light and the dark wash. My regular size fits well. They are low slung but not too low. I sure hope you don’t stop making these!"
"I'm 4'11"", so the hem was at normal length instead of up above the ankles like the model had. It did not look flattering on me, so I returned. I liked the color of the wash though. I guess that's the issue with being short AND extra petite--it always looks so much different on me than in the pictures of the models who are really tall. I suggest Everlane start making more petite/extra petite-friendly jeans that better fit our proportions/length. I don't want to have to pay extra for tailoring. I did love customer service rep who honored my return many months past the 90-day allowance (AFTER I had given birth), and I used Happy Returns, which was super quick and convenient!"
"Perfect wash, perfect length (I am 5’7”) and perfect rise for a 60something with a not so svelte waistline but a great butt! Thank you thank you thank you!"
