Disappointed After First Wash – Handle w/ Caution
"I absolutely loved this cardigan when it first arrived — soft, stylish, and a perfect fit. It felt like a real treat since I don’t usually splurge on items at this price point. Unfortunately, after a couple of wears, I followed the care instructions on the tag to hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry. Despite being very careful, the cardigan ended up shrinking or felting (I’m not exactly sure which), and it no longer has the look or feel it started with. I’m currently trying to soak it in water with conditioner to relax the fibers, but I’m not sure it will ever recover. It’s super disappointing, especially since I was so happy with it at first. The care tag says handwashing is okay, but if you want it to keep its shape and softness, you may want to consider dry cleaning — though honestly, if I’d known that, I wouldn’t have purchased it, as I can’t really afford the ongoing care. Buyer beware: it’s beautiful out of the box, but the maintenance may not match the promise."
