Did You Know? Organic cotton uses crop rotation, cover crops, and organic fertilizers instead of toxic chemical fertilizers or pesticides—which means cleaner water, lower water usage, lower pesticide use, healthier soil, and a safer working environment for cotton farmers, compared to conventional cotton. Wherever we can, we use recycled materials to lower our carbon footprint and reduce waste. Currently, 97% of the polyester and nylon we use comes from certified recycled sources. To date, we have recycled over nine million plastic bottles, as well as upcycled 1 million pounds of textiles and fishing nets to make our ReNew apparel and accessories and ReKnit footwear. Using recycled materials repurposes resources, reduces inputs, and diverts would-be-waste materials away from landfills.

The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is a third-party verified certification standard that certifies organic content and traceability from farm to finished garment. We use the OCS Blended standard and logo on products containing organic cotton blended with other fibers.

Everlane has been an RWS-certified brand since 2022. The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) is a third-party verified certification standard that ensures responsible animal welfare and traceability through chain of custody measures. RWS-certified sheep farmers must meet strict animal welfare, land management, and social requirements. Each part of the supply chain is audited for compliance at least once per year.

Using organic cotton means cleaner and lower water usage, lower pesticide use, healthier soil, and a safer working environment for cotton farmers, compared to conventional cotton production. We utilize Textile Exchange's Organic Content Standard (OCS) and other leading industry organic manufacturing standards to certify applicable products from farm to finished garment.
